I'm a specialist in general medicine. Before I got covid-19 myself in 2020, I knew nothing about POTS or PEM. My own lived experience of covid-induced heart disease has made me curious and well-read. I'm far from done learning, but I keep striving to learn more. Much of what I've learned I've tried to pass on, in my books about the Postcovid lottery and in my earlier work as spokesperson for the Swedish Covid Association. Knowing that many patients live in parts of Sweden without access to knowledgeable care is what motivated me to now provide care for these patients myself, here at Havio. I hope to contribute both medical knowledge and the understanding that comes from having walked the road from patient to engaged clinician.

Who is this for?
Adults (18+) in Sweden who've done some initial testing for long covid related conditions but still lack a diagnosis or treatment plan.
How do I start?
Sign up on our website and we'll send you our intake forms. We'll ask about your health history, previous labs and medications. Once that's complete, we'll help you find a care option that suits your needs.
How does care work?
Everything is online. Complete your intake at your own pace, then book a video call with a doctor on our team. You receive a diagnosis and a care plan depending on your results.
What if my assessment doesn't confirm a diagnosis?
We'll do our best to make sure you still leave with answers and a clear next step. You get a written assessment that you can take forward in your care.
Will this replace my GP or regular care?
No. We work alongside your regular care. You're welcome to share our written reports with your GP or healthcare provider. We are not a long covid clinic with specialist expertise in heart disease or rehabilitation. We manage post-infectious conditions at a specialised, in-depth primary care level.
Can I register with you as my regular clinic?
No.
Can I get any medication I want?
No. We follow the state-of-the-art guidance documents on POTS and mast cell disorders. Other types of medication, such as LDN or blood thinners, are not offered at the moment.
What happens if I'm not eligible yet?
We'll tell you directly and explain why, with guidance on what to ask from your regular care. We can also add you to a waitlist as our scope expands.
Will I need labs or in-person visits?
The evaluation itself is fully online. We ask for your prior test results upfront, so most evaluations need no new labs. If something is missing, we'll tell you what to ask your regular care for.
Do you take insurance?
Not at this time. If you have private health insurance, check with your provider whether private consultations are reimbursed.
Does the high-cost protection card (frikort) apply?
No, unfortunately not.
Is my data private?
Yes. We operate under Swedish healthcare regulation and GDPR. Your records are protected the same way as at any licensed healthcare provider.
